Hi all,
I have a question about North Carolina and reciprocity. I know that they will not take dentists from outside states, but I was wondering does that mean if you practice in NC, and want to move somewhere else, outside states will not give you a license without additional examination (assuming you had taken the CITA exam over 5 years ago)?
Thanks

North Carolina will take dentists from outside states provided that they have worked 5 years in another state and provided 5000 hours of direct care to patients in that time period.

Other states will have their own requirements for licensure. Some will offer grant licensure by credentials others may require a clinical board exam. It varies state by state. Visit the dental boards for the state that you are most interested in to get the most accurate answer.

Bump. I want to practice in NC but I might go to dental school in Florida. Will it be possible for me to move back to NC post-graduation and practice?

Thanks.
