So as of January 2011, foreign-trained dentists will no longer be required to take a qualifying program within Canada in order to practice here. Instead, they will be able to take a three-part test.

This is pretty disturbing to me. It certainly opens the flood gates for new competition. It also makes me wonder what advantage going to a Canadian/American school will have, when you can graduate anywhere and start working in Canada.

I really don't think that Canada has any kind of dentist shortage - I wonder why this policy has been changed.
