I am a non-traditional student, so this semester-long leave of absence during college completely slipped my mind. I took the leave for financial reasons.

Should I mention this in my secondaries? Given my GPA, it's quite obvious that the leave was not due to academic reasons. But I wonder if it even matters since it was a few years ago.

Many secondaries will require that you explain any and all gaps in your education, so yes, you will have to explain this in your secondaries. It should be very easy to explain, though, and should not be a problem for you. However, some schools (like George Washington), have been known to be wary about students they don't think can afford tuition, so you may want to make it clear that the financial situation is cleared and will not affect your medical education.

I figured out what I'm going to wear to my GWU interview.
