Hey guys I need a little advice. I just got my aug. MCAT scores in and I did pretty decent (9P 10V 10B LW). I do have a good gpa (3.8), I'm a URM, and everything else should be good on my application. Because I wasn't sure what my MCAT score would be I only applied to my state school and four DO schools. My question is: should I bother applying to any top med schools? If so which ones (which ones are most friendly to URM's)? Besides the top med schools, are there any other good schools that I would be competitive at? Thanks guys!

Wherever you apply is up to you, you sounds like a good candidate to me, and I'm sure anyone else would say the same.

Since it's obvious you're using your ethnicity as your selling point, you might as well just look up which schools have the highest URM populations and apply there. Buy the MSAR.

I would apply to a bunch of good schools. some top tier...middle and low tier...

seeing how we need more diversity in the field of medicine.........i believe you will be an excellent candidate for most medical schools.

good luck on the process man.

You only get one chance to apply, once you take an acceptance. I assume you will get at least one, so why not apply anywhere you might be interested. It wont hurt and you might be blown away.
