I guess I just need some feedback, and to know if anyone else went through the same.

I'm not done with my first review yet, but Im close still have musculocutaneous, heme/onc, git to do. I'm bouncing between 41-60%, with most of my scores being around 45-55%. I have learnt a lot from U world.

And I've also averaged around 55% in FA's Q&A book blocks.

I'm frustrated because the questions I miss are like things I covered but are hazy and I can't recall the exact detail they're looking for. For example I got this question wrong on Edward's syndrome, but I had narrowed down the possible answers from the stem to either Edwards or Patau's b/f looking at the answers I just couldn't remember which one had which signs and symptoms😕and I was quickly running out of time on the clock so I just had to click and move on.

Im just baffled because the questions I get right are questions that uworld says fewer than 50-30% of people got right (so i'm guessing they're a bit more difficult) and Im missing the "give-me" questions.😡

I want to take my test in mid-late march depending on my score. Im just very down right now because Im not sure if I can be averaging a 70+ in U world. Anyone else been in similar circumstances? And how did you improve your score? difficult and broad questions i know.. but this is just eating away at my head. I guess i just need reassurance that im doing things right, or if im not what I should do.

And I have another questions is the sample assessment here https://nsas.nbme.org/nsasweb/servlet/mesa_main the so called "free 150"?

And are the "CBSSA" the same as the NBME 3,45,6,7 and so on?

Sorry I'm a total noob when it comes to all this.

Well don't fret about how you score on the UW. The important thing is you are learning from the mistakes. I recommend that you go through your first review and then redo the UW. The things like differentiating between edwards and patau etc you will be able to remember during your second review because these are specific things meant for short term memory. The basic thing for the first review is that you understand the basic concepts of the disease process.

Also you would see that your score will improve significantly during your second read.
http://www.usmle.org/Orientation/2011/menu.html this is the link for the free 150

and yes the CBSSAs are the forms 1,2,3 etc I would recommend doing these forms after your first review.

and don't worry you are doing great for the first review so keep working on it instead of getting frustrated. Feel free to ask anything else.Good luck
