Hey guys, Im a high school senior and im looking for a job. Since i want to go into pharmacy I was looking for pharmacy related jobs. I know I could get a job at CVS and work in their pharmacy section, but i was wondering if hospitals offer anything for high schoolers thats related to pharmacy.

It depends on your state. Different states have different laws about unlicensed individuals working in an enviroment such as pharmacies. Just call them up and find out what their requirements are.

yea ill probably have to call CVS to find out. But if i cant work there, does any one else know another job?

I know high school students are taken as volunteers in hospital pharmacies, but haven't heard of any of them getting paid. CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid etc pay though.

I got experience in pharmacy through volunteering and was eventually hired. I currently work for an independent pharmacy in Illinois. If you have any local independent pharmacies I would suggest going there and asking to shadow. Heck, if they like you, they might even take you in as a technician.

What a volunteer gets to do at a pharmacy is probably less helpful than the exposure you'd get at someplace like CVS. In a volunteer capacity you don't really get to see the whole system and you won't get patient contact. Shadowing at a hospital would probably be more informative than volunteering there.
