Hey guys,

Turns out Step 2 CS didn't go so well for me. I'm one of the 3% of American Grads that failed 🙁 If there is anyone out there with a test date before March 24 that would be able reschedule, I would be so, so grateful. I'm really desperate. Please let me know if there is something I can do for you.

Sincerely thankful, in advance.

Sign up for the notification emails. There have been a few openings per day, you just need to get to them quickly. Atlanta & Houston seem to be the easiest to catch before someone else snaps them up.

Don't rely on the notifications emails. By the time you actually get the email, the post is already gone. Given the no-testing time period, there are going to be many people in wait for notification email.

The best thing to do is to download and install "check4change" app on Mozilla Firefox and set it to refresh the webpage of CS calender every 5 minutes or so. If it detects a change (e.g. a new date popping up), it'll play a little music to let you know.

I figure 24th March is already gone. I wish you had obtained your desired date but if not, you can still try doing that. It's a nice idea to check for your desired date about 5-14 days before, since many people get suspicious 5-14 days before their exam date, of their preparation and change the dates.

Philly and LA are impossible (at least with the email notifications), but Atlanta last minute was easy and Chicago and Houston aren't too bad. Too many people cancel the day before though which is annoying and not helpful - they should double the fine for canceling within 24 hrs.

I got May 2nd in Philly last night using check4change, but I had six tabs open refreshing every 15 seconds. Throughout the day I did see a few open spots here and there that were snatched up in less than 10 seconds!

I guess the e-mail notifications are only sent after the spots have been available for a while or something (at least the ones from the ECFMG), because I never got any emails for any of the spots that I witnessed being available yesterday. Interestingly, all the e-mails I've gotten have been mostly for April 12, 19 in ATL and Philly. I wonder what's up with those specific dates.

I'm just happy I got my spot which will allow me to be fully ECFMG certified by the time ERAS opens.

Hi -- I finally managed to score a date today. I am curious -- if a "better" date becomes available for me, do I have to cancel my current appointment before rescheduling the next one?

Thanks!
Mica
