So i have a presentation in immunology coming up in 2 weeks and I was wondering if any of you have ideas on a topic?
It can basically be on anything as long as I describe the immunological pathway involved.....
it can be a current relevant topic or an immunological disease
I cant seem to find a topic myself despite looking through my WHOLE immuno book, so just looking for some ideas

you could choose a viral pathogen that invades intracellularly and talk about CD8 T cell activation.
ive got an immuno exam coming up tomorrow. good luck with the class!

I have to do a presentation to! I hate my immuno class, im going to do celiac disease (you should to!) mainly bc i figure ill handout gluten free cupcakes at the end to kiss a ss.............i need that A!

lol i thought my immuno class was the best class i took in college actually....

im just ready for it to be over with. =(
there are just too many random cytokines and interleukins and chemokines and recepetors and its driving me crazy!

yes exactly. its an intresting subject just too many little things to memorize & my prof puts the most obscure questions on our exams. ughhh
the janeway CD is quite helpful tho

oh i know! janeway is the txtbook my class is using, and without the cd...id probably be lost. it simplifies things really well.

Find a disease that you find fascinating. If I had to do this presentation I would choose a flesh eating disease.

Or an extracellular pathogen and talk about CD4 cells, interleukin 4 and 5 signalling B-cells to grow and differentiate into plasma cells and to secrete antibodies.

You could talk about hypersensitivities

Non-specific defense vs specific defense...there are so many options, you should find something easily. Immunology rules!!!!

you could talk about endocarditis and the immune pathway involved. a decent chunk of your presentation could even involve teeth!
