I decided to pursue medicine later in life and do not have a lot of contact with a pre-med committe to determine my chances of acceptance. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice considering my stats:

GPA: 3.4 - ivy
Science GPA: 3.2
grad GPA: 3.8 (MS in public health) - ivy

MCAT: 9 PS 11 BS 10 V

Great recommendations
Lot of great Extracurriculars
Strong Personal Statement

My top choice is NYU, Tulane and any SUNY schools (state resident) but I am applying to a wide range of schools.

I was wondering if I should do somthing else to strengthen my application while applying this year or if I should apply to a foreign medical school.

i think you've got a good shot at the SUNY's and Tulane. you're stats are a little low for NYU though. good luck.

Apply everywhere you want to...those stats are good enough to get into lots of schools...you just have to find a way to conquer the "luck factor"!

Thanks for the encouragement. The process is stressful enough but I was feeling alone in the process since I do not know many people that are applying.

Does your ivy school have a med school? There was girl on here recently who had similar #'s and got in to her ivy school's med program. Just a thought..........

Your score are ok though. Try to get in at a US med school.

Your app is looking good from what I can see. I don't see any problems as long as you don't limit yourself to too few schools to apply to.

Hey, I agree with the above posts. Apply to a wide range of schools and you will be fine. My roommate got into SUNY Upstate with similar stats and also had a grad degree (MS and MBA)
best of luck!!
