Need Advice for DAT materials!!!!

Hey guys..I took DAT last August but I didn't do well. So I am taking DAT again in May... I have a few questions... please answer these.. please..


1. On the test day, the test center did not let me use the pencils and paper.. Instead they forced me to use a THick Marker, two sheets, and an eraser. So when I do the RC, QR, and gen Chem I was having a hard time. Is there anyway that I can use pencils(or pens) and normal scratch papers?

2. Gen chem is harder than I thought. I used DAT destroyer and got 27 for OC but 19 for GC... Is destroyer helpful for only orgo?????????? How do I prepare for gen chem??🙁

3. FOr biology, I got 19.... but also I studied based on Destroyer but the questions were really different styles. So this time I am trying to use Schaum's bio, Cliffs Ap Bio, and Kaplan. Does eveyone who used Destroyer find that the real bio in DAT is very different than destroyer? Then How did you prepare for that?

4. Can you suggest great DAT materials for questions???? SHould I buy topscore or Achiever?????????????????

Hey, unfortunately they won't let you use paper/pencil anymore because they found people cheat and use the paper to measure angles for the PAT, so I would suggest buying a whiteboard/marker and practice writing on them(my test center didn't even give me an eraser!). Also, I would definitely recommend using Schaum's and Campbell's bio if you can and try knowing every concept as best you can because bio on the DAT is really a crapshoot of every topic you have ever learned in biology. Also, I would definitely suggest buying both Topscore and Achiever. Topscore is more indicative of the actual test, but if you can do really well on Achiever, you will succeed on the real DAT since Achiever is much harder than the real thing. Good luck in studying 🙂
