I have my MCAT exam next week, yet I'm scoring 499 and 498 on practice exams. Should I void it or give it a shot? I've spent 2.5 months full time studying and I'm still doing poorly which is very discouraging. What are my chances of doing better on the real thing? I want to take it but I'm worried a poor score could affect my chances of getting into MD later on even if I retake it and do better.

I was hoping to apply this cycle and want to only do MD programs. I have a 3.85cgpa (3.95sgpa) from McGill. I have a competitive application for ECs in all categories.

So, should I take the exam and take my chances, or wait till next year to apply and re-study later?

I wouldn't count on doing significantly better on the real thing than on practice exams, especially if your practice exams were the AAMC exams. Those are very predictive. It got my score pretty much down to the digit. Your call if you want to give it a shot, but I would expect to do about as well as you did on your practice exams. Happy to discuss MCAT prep in DMs if you'd like ideas.

I took an MCAT on June 15th and scored much lower than I thought I would. I'm retaking the MCAT August 24th. Should I send my first score to AACOMAS or wait for the second one and only send that one? I know the second one will be coming in late, but I think it will be worth it.
