Ok guys, reeeeeeeeally need some advice here on if I should postpone.

Exam date 8/13/14, currently taking IM rotation which eats up alot of my time during the day (had scheduling problems).

About myself: IMG applying for Anesthesia, 237 Step 1 (aiming for 240+ on CK).

Practice exam scores:

NBME 2 (5/25/14): 212
NBME 6 (7/13/14): 214
UWSA (7/27/14): 219
UW Score: 64% (63% through first pass, doing at least 100 questions a day)

So, if I should postpone, how long should I push it back and what practice exams should I take next? Will pushing it back affect me that much in light of my Step 1 score? Thanks guys.

If your goal is 240+, you can't confidently say you'll achieve it based on these assessments. The decision is yours really, if you feel you can do enough to bump yourself up 20 points then there's no need to postpone. At the same time, you need to think about whether you can really augment your preparation any further by postponing. As far as the score release goes, being an IMG, you might want to have it in hand when applications get sent out.

That's where part of my problem lies is deciding if it's worth submitting a score later in order to get a better score or to risk taking it early and not scoring as well.

Even if I take the rate of improvement of 10 points a month it would still take me 2 months to reach my goal. Granted, I've now got a solid study system and time to study in place that I've only implemented over the last few weeks. I think I can maybe now do better than 5 points every two weeks.
