An excellent quality stethoscope.
Although she will not be listening to serious cardio stuff, the better the quality the easier time she will have hearing for the BP, etc. Although they say a 6 or 7 quality is good enough, I got a 9 quality right from the start and it was perfect.
It is still with me today many, many years later.... has it been that long???
*Sigh*
I would also go on allnurses.com and ask them. They might have better ideas.

I've had a Littman Master Cardio steth. for about ten years. That it's never been stolen is shocking, because it really is an excellent scope. It was a little pricey, but I never regretted getting it.
It really depends on how much you want to spend. That would give us a better idea what to suggest.

I started using a peds scope when I was doing peds GI. I kept it when moving to adults. It does well enough for what I do and I can instantly identify it as mine.

If your budget is more modest, the new acrylic littman stethoscope is really lightweight and works really well. And it is <$50
