Is it feasible to schedule your rotation so you won't have any classes on Fridadys at all?

Also, please be honest when answering this question: is there really anything wrong with NYU such as extremely impersonal feelings, low patient pool, and lack of training in root canal?

Please help me for I am deciding between Y and Case

Thank you

Please any one?

There ought to be an nyu student out there. All I want to know is how possible it is to move classes around so there wouldn't be any classes on Friday.

Thanks

Hey,
i'm a D2 at nyu, and as far as I know you don't have a choice with your schedule...you take classes at the time/date that they are given to you in your student schedule and there is no option of changing things around..

regarding there being anything wrong with nyu...
personally I dont think there is...however i'm still only half way thru d2 , i've heard from upperclassmen/friends that there are a ton of patients and that's not a problem...but everyone has there own opinion...

Hi Khurram!

I was accepted to nyu and am seriously considering it but I have some doubts, and I still have interviews to Upenn and BU in January. I love the city its great but I've heard alot of negative things about nyu (low board scores, poor clinicians, high tuition). So I wanted to hear what some students at nyu had to say about this and also do you know how often schlorships are given?

Hey nausheen what's goin on?

You don't have any control over your schedule at NYU.

Impersonal feelings? No not an issue in my opinion. Why does NYU have such a bad rep? The class size doesn't hurt you as you might imagine. You will get the attention you need to learn. If you need help, simply ask for it.

Patient pool is most definately not a problem. You will have more patients than you can handle. My appt book is booked one month in advance.

Root canals? I have no idea how many you do at other schools, but at NYU you need 5 to graduate. In order to get 5, students do have to share with each other, so most graduate with exactly 5.

hope I was able to help.

Denticized, Go with CASE. Heard similar things about NYU (poor clinicians, emotional rape, no help)

the poor clinicians rumor is absolutely bogus, low board scores...also not true. They do well on boards, maybe not like top 10 but you have to realize they have over 200 ppl..so obviously some people are going to screw up. Also, board scores are a reflection of teh student moreso than the school. It's like the DAT...you can take all the review classes and buy all the study books you want, but in the end..its all about the work you put in. If you dont want to go to NYU, that's fine...it's your choice and going to a school like Case is also a good choice. My advice though..dont believe any of the rumors..b/c that's all they are...rumors.
