Hey everyone,

Well I took the DAT and performed poorly 16AA 22 PAT. I feel like I should contact all of the schools I applied to and let them know that I am definitely retaking the DAT in October.

Has anyone had experience in this? Who do I call and talk to? dean, sec, adcoms??

I have tried to call a couple schools but I know that they don’t even take note of my call, I get the "okay just send us the new scores in Oct."

I applied to 15 schools (WV,VCU, creigt, Louis, Nova, az, case, UNLV, Marq, temp, BU,Tufts, Upenn, NYU, and USC)

my stats:
16AA 22 PAT ,bachelor degree, GPA 3.19, BCP 3.6, my last 2 years 3.8, great LOR's and experience.

you can write a letter to the school's adcoms informing them that new DAT scores are coming, in which they will stick to your file. That will either translate into them not lookign at your file until the new scores are in, or looking at your current app and making an interview/or send to next batch to be reviewed.....

btw: people need to stop with the "great LOR's and great experience" thing.... because guess what, every legitimate contender has those, and LORs (unless they coem from someone with clout at the school), has as much bearing on your application as whether the reviewer has a quesy stomache or not.

You'll certainly need to retake the DAT if you want a good shot at any of the schools on your list. With that said I would go ahead and mail them a letter stating that you will be retaking the exam. Be sure to include your AADSAS number (if known) and/or SS# so that the schools can properly match the letter with your file. Best of luck, and hit the books between now and October!
