Hey guys, long time lurker, but I do need advice from you guys. I began content review with KA about three weeks ago, but I'm feeling overwhelmed with how much time it takes to thoroughly understand the videos I'm watching. I make ANKI Cards as I watch the videos, but I'm not sure if this is efficient.

Should I continue to create ANKI cards as I watch the videos or should I just use these videos as a way to help me understand the concept? I'm about 2 yrs out from Undergrad so I need to do full content review. I also have a Full Set of Kaplan books. What advice do you have for me to tackle content?

My schedule is pretty much 3-4 hrs of studying throughout the weekdays cause of a full time job. I get ~7 hrs on both Sat and Sun.

Instead of passively studying, do practice passages (untimed for now) and CARS (timed).

Do a practice passage and for any question that you needed outside information to answer -> look up that information and add it to your notes. You'll find that you can answer at least 1/2 of the questions using only information from the passage.

Repeat this over and over until you start seeing the same questions / information in different passages. This is a much more effective and active way to study.

I agree with this. I wasted a good chunk of my study time just passively reading, highlight, etc. Making flashcards is active, along with concept maps and teaching. Practice is slightly more important than content so the sooner you practice the closer you’ll get to achieving a good score

Oddly enough, I listened to Khan videos while in the shower and while driving - even while running. I actually retained a lot of information during those times, so it might help to do something similar - try to watch/listen while doing other activities - and then use your focused time for practice. It’s one possible way to fit in both the videos and some active studying with a limited schedule.

I won't start studying in earnest until Spring break, but in the meantime I have been plotting out my pseudo-schedule. I'm starting with AAMC's study guide. I plan to use KA videos for most of my review and consult TBR and EK review books as needed. I don't plan to use Anki, as it seems most people with good scores say it's useful only for P/S. For passages it's TBR for science and TPR for P/S. I have been building a schedule correlating KA videos with the corresponding TBR science passages and TPR P/S passages. So far the TBR passages match up really well, but I can't get the TPR passages to fit into the AAMC categories.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has successfully done this in the past.

This is solid. I’m pretty sure people online have correlated the passages already - look and see what you can find! I think I have a spreadsheet I downloaded with much of this information.
