Hello, thanks for reading 🙂

I have less than one day to figure out if I should reschedule or not. Half of me thinks I can do 10x better if I had more time to study... while the other half wants to face it. I just took my second Topscore exam and I'm not sure what to do think. I realize I tend to lose track of time. I spend too much time on Bio... GC takes along time for me if it has calculations... and then I end up rushing through OC.

Start studying: May 10, 2011

Topscore 1 (May 19, 2011)
AA 17
TS 17
BS 17 (didn't study yet)
GC 16
OC 16 (need to finish studying)
RC 20
QR 17 (didn't study yet)
PAT 22

Topscore 2 (May 21, 2011)
TS 17
BS 15 (will start studying today)
GC 19 (a few silly mistakes)
OC 18 (need to finish studying the last few topics)
PAT 21
RC 21
QR *didn't do (will eventually study)

DAT: May 25 (3 days away) :scared:

I feel like if I studied hardcore for the next few days, I can start and finish biology studying. I can also brush up on OC. And lastly, I can store Math Destroyer solutions into my short term memory. But I really don't know... I've read that no one will ever feel ready for these type of tests. I will take the last Topscore on Monday (after it's too late to reschedule).

Should I reschedule? Any suggestions, comments, feedback? Thanks! 🙂

You have improved and thats the good thing. But going into the exam and not studying enough for Biology may hurt you (first time I took the DAT I got a 14 Bio score because I neglected to look over it).

I would reschedule and make an account on PreDDS.net (its free). Go to "DAT Guide" ----> "DAT Notes" ---> "Biology" ----> "Cliffs AP Biology DAT Notes" (http://predds.net/)

^^^A previous student condensed the entire book into a PDF outline that I would read 3 or 4 times and you should be good to go!

IF YOU CAN READ AND COMPREHEND IT, THEN TAKE THE EXAM, OTHERWISE RESCHEDULE (my opinion)

Best of Luck!

If it were me, I'd reschedule.

If I was feeling anything less than 100% prepared to the best of my ability, I wouldn't risk screwing up and having it hanging over me for the rest of the application cycle.

I would say reschedule... Unless you have a strong biology background (practice scores not showing this though) and remember things from plant biology, evolution, genetics, physiology, etc... If you are one of the "naturals" then maybe you can make due with 3 days on biology.

It is true you never really feel "ready" but there is a difference between not feeling ready and feeling unprepared.

If you haven't studied for biology, then you should reschedule. You need to bump those science grades up to 20. Why are you in a rush to take it anyway? To apply this cycle? I rather study more now and push the DATs back and send my applications in.

RESCHEDULE now..... 😡😡
Don't risk it.. Play safe.. u still have lot of time and just take it end of june and it would still be early

Ask yourself this: "What are the advantages of taking this test May 25 or June 25?"

If the advantages of May outweight June's, don't reschedule. IMO, I don't see any strategic advantage for the May take (but maybe your very busy in June so you won't be able to study).

If you haven't studied any bio why are you in a hurry to take it. Bio is completely random, I got a question that was buried in about 1 paragraph or so of campbells. Cliffs/Barrons/Kaplan not one of them even mentions it.

I have this feeling(assuming you can't delay to a month later or so) is that you are trying to submit your app the very 1st day or very close to it.

Seriously that is horrible way of going about the DAT. The schools do not care that you are 1st in line if you have a bad score. Unless your native american or one of the URM(which isn't likely given "Nguyen" but you could be half)

If they had a physical line and took people regardless I'd be bumming it out outside UOP a year in advance. Sandwich shop around the corner , japantown about 3-4 blocks away.

Timing is important to a certain extent. But between timing and your score, score will win out most of the time.

Thanks for everyone's responses and it has convinced me to reschedule 🙂 But WOW, that was a close call....... :scared: About an hour ago, I went to the prometric website to reschedule and put my confirmation number in, but it continually stated "date cutoff for rescheduling has passed." It did that about 7 times. But I came back half an hour later and it suddenly works... weird 😕

Anyhow, I gave myself about a 1.5 weeks. That should be enough time to finish up, if not... I will know what to do 😉 Plus, I will probably start forgetting a few things if I hold it off any longer than that 😀

Getting my apps in early was a part of it for me, but not entirely. I had several reasons for not wanting to reschedule:
(1) I somewhat believe in fate... as in... something drew me pick May 25 because I wouldn't get piano'd that day... versus, me rescheduling to another date and getting piano'd on that date
(2) Taking it at the end of June will still be early for AADSAS... but I am TMDSAS where apps already opened🙂
(3) More importantly, I have a few classes starting June 6. I learned from my mistake that it's almost impossible to study efficiently while taking classes. I won't submit my AADSAS applications until after I receive my Summer I courses.

Again, thanks everyone! You all may have saved myself 3 months of he!! and even a year of waiting 😍

there are a whole lot of smileys in this post!!! & lollll at the reading comp part. paranoia. everytime i hit the next button during my rc section i was so nervous id see the damn piano passage, it was serious anxiety.

Awww. Too funny🙂 I have to admit I read through SDN posts when people got the piano passage to see what days it showed up the most. Hehe. And I wanted to take it on a certain day but it wasn't available so I am stuck with a Sunday 7/17...

What is your new day?

What does piano'd mean?

Question about rescheduling...what do you have to do call 48hrs in advance of your exam? Mine is scheduled for a monday so could I call friday if I needed to reschedule or is it two business days? And does this cost money? Thanks so much!

My new day is June 1. And what have you come up with in regards to the days the piano shows up most?? 🙂

Piano'd means just that.... receiving a reading passage on pianos. Many have bad experiences with this passage.

The most convenient way is to reschedule online. Go to the prometric dat website page. You can google: 'Prometric dat' ...You will need your confirmation number and first four letters of your last name. This confirmation number can be found on the email they sent you when you signed up for your DAT. To reschedule, it has to be at least two full days in advanced. To be safe, I'd do at least three since this morning scared me to death. It costs $25 each time you reschedule. I probably spent $100 just on rescheduling already
