Hey so my exam is at the end of the month. I've scored 65% on UWorld Qs first time around and im almost done going through it the second time now and im in 70%. I did kaplan q bank while i was in school not really studying for step 1 at the time and scored a 56%. I find the Uworld questions a lot more do-able then the NBMEs. I did NBME 12 when i did a review course and just barely passed 360 (189) in May. One month later I did NBME 7 still half way left of the course and only improved very slightly to a 400 (198) which is still just barely passing. Now''s it July and I've gone through all of path in pathoma and did NBME 5 and still only managed 400 (198). What should I do? I havent done any of the Uworld Self assesments yet that I bought and I still have NBME 11 and 13 to do plus the free 150 qs from USMLE. Should I postpone my exam? I've never been a terrific standarized exam test take but I feel like I've put in so much work and effort this time around for this exam. Anyone with any advice as to how i should move forward from here till my exam is greatly appreciated. Likewise if anyone has any advice on how to retain information for greater than a few weeks haha send that my way. I cant just pass this exam being that I'm an USIMG nor do I want to just pass this exam. My plan as of now is to just focus on First Aid and doing Uworld questions ans well as the other assessments i have left to do and start DIT again next week for 15 days and use the last week to just hammer home first aid and questions. Is this realistic or not? I have no one to review it which I think is also not helping me retaining this information. I've attached a copy of performance in each subject. Trying not to feel defeated but....pretty hard not to right now.

I think its pretty clear from your score report that you are weak in certain organ systems. If I were you I would postpone the test especially since your a img. A poor score may prevent you from doing residency in the US.

Yeah I don't get it like I have reviewed those three for the past 2 weeks and when ive done uworld questions I have been doing well and stupid form 5 didn't offer extended feedback. I think I am going to try reading FA front through back for a week and see where I stand and start DIT again. I am scared though if pushing it back will make things better because my biggest problem is recalling things after I studied them like 2 weeks ago. Like from my report I did well on repro/endo & resp because I just reviewed those two systems within this past two weeks. That's why I'm hoping if I go through FA, uworld/selfassements/ nbme, & DIT now till test day that amount of exposure will solidfy things. Does that sound plausible? Are there those people who did poorly on the nbmes and well on uworld & performed well?

I'm in a similar situation. Ive taken NBME 6,7,11,13 and the highest Ive made so far is a 200. After looking over my results side by side I realized that I've been scoring on the lower end for the same exact 4/5 organ systems. GI, Neuro, Heme/Onc, Endocrine, and MSK. I've already finished Uworld and Pathoma....but really felt as if I rushed it and didnt retain alot of it I'm redoing UWorld by organ systems starting with the systems that i mentioned above and going each and every world in the explanations and looking up anything I dont know right then and there. My suggestion is to complete the World questions for the organ systems your weak in whilst reviewing from FA your stronger areas and then take a practice test to see if you improve.
