I graduate this January with my B.S. but have yet to take Physics and Organic Chem. I plan on taking Physics 1 in the Spring and possibly Physics 2 in the Summer. This leaves Organic 1&2 for next year and I need to squeeze in the DAT. I would like to do everything right the first time around so should I take my time and study for the DAT after the Spring and apply when I have a good DAT score or try to squeeze studying for the DAT next year and apply during next years cycle? It just does not seems like I will have enough preparation and don't want to apply with a bad DAT score. Any advice?

I suggest taking physics 1 and ochem 1 after you graduate during the spring, then finish physics 2 and ochem 2 during the summer. During the spring and summer study for the DAT and take it during the beginning of next years application cycle or before it if you feel you are ready. Apply early as it has helped me land 6 interviews this year. It sounds crazy to study while taking these courses, but many people have done it before and possibly with a heavier course load. I wish the best of luck to you!

Take ochem before physics! Ochem is actually on the DAT and you should aim to take the DAT directly after ochem2. Take ochem 1 spring, ochem 2 summer, DAT summer. Schools will accept you without the physics classes so long as you complete them before matriculation. If you're applying summer, this leaves you all next year to complete physics before you would even matriculate. Good luck.

agreed take physics after orgo. since physics is not tested on the dat.

Thanks for the advice guys.... I am definately going to have to take just Orgo in the spring (cant handle orgo and Physics in one semester). I would like to take Orgo 2 in the summer like someone suggested but am afraid it will be very difficult.

Does anyone know if it is possible to apply the first week of June without the DAT yet? Say if I took the DAT sometime in late June-early July?

Yes. Do NOT wait until you take your DAT to submit. I made this mistake. You want to apply in early June and take the DAT by mid-July at the latest. Being complete after August is underway sucks.

So if I do that am I still considered early? or is early having your DAT completed by first week of June?

The schools may not look or consider your application complete until they have everything including your DAT. The reason you should submit early is because AADSAS processing may take up to 4-6 weeks to verify your transcript, calculate your GPA, and mail your application to your designated schools. If you submit early, you can take your DAT at a later date and they will send it to your schools afterwards without worrying about the processing taking too long. You could take your DAT in June but only if you are confident you'll do well. Remember it takes around 2+ weeks for AADSAS to receive your DAT score after you've taken it.
