Hey guys I've come across a little bit of a confusing situation..

I signed up for a 4 week elective with the main group of ophthalmology at my school. The head of the clerkship is the chairman of the Ophtho Dept. I figured at the end of the 4 weeks I could ask for a letter from him.

But I just got my schedule for the 4 weeks, and I'll be with a new doctor pretty much everyday. I'm not sure how I'll be able to get enough face time to ask for a letter from the chairman, which, from what I've heard, is the best thing to get.

Any advice that could help me out?

Thanks in advance

This is common. At my institution you can request a "chairman's letter" which is a composite of your performance. See if that's available.
