Hi- I am just hoping to get a few takes on an issue I have. In general, my grades are pretty good (A/AB, a few B's), but last year I ended up getting a D in Calculus. Math is not my strongest subject, and due to a variety of factors I was not able to perform to my usual potential that semester. The biggest problem is that should I hope to apply next summer, I will not be able to retake calculus in time. Would one D be enough to ruin my entire application, if everything else is at least competitive based on school averages and such? I am taking the MCAT this spring, so I realize that will also play a factor. If I apply to DO schools, I will probably be only applying DO. Any advice, anecdotal or otherwise is appreciated.

As long as it's just one blip in a landscape of otherwise good grades, it shouldn't be a concern; it's things like a pattern of bad grades or W's that would tend to raise an eyebrow. If you're not hurting GPA-wise and looking for courses to retake to boost it, keep up the otherwise good work 🙂
