Hey everyone,

I'm currently a rising senior in college and I have quite a complicated dilemma. I used to be pre-dental until my sophomore year, but after serious rethinking and discussing my decision, I decided a few weeks ago that I should go back to the pre-dental track. Anyway, I only have half of the pre-dent/pre-med requirements done (gen chem, bio, and one semester of orgo) and it will be tough for me to finish the rest of my pre-req's plus biochem, anatomy, etc., before graduation. At this point, do I need to do a formal post-bacc, or should I just take classes at my local state uni after finishing undergrad? The only thing I'm concerned about is orgo grade, because I got a C. I did fine on gen chem and bio, however. Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

If you want, you can just do an informal post-bass to finish up any missing prerequisites that you need. I would not worry about a C in organic chemistry, just try to redeem yourself in orgo II. You may also want to consult the ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools, since certain schools also have prerequisites that include biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology or more upper level biology courses. Just make sure all your bases are covered, or you will have to take and complete those courses before you start dental school.

thanks for your reply qkchen. anyone else have advice?
