Need advice on Step2 scheduling - IMG

hi all,

i just signed up to this forum but have been a quite follower for a long time.

i am a little bit confused on when to take step2CK.

does anyone know when the latest possibility of taking step2CK is? i want to apply for residency programs in 2015 (for match 2016). the eras application process ends at the end of september 2015, right? it takes around 4 weeks until i get the results.

so basically, does it mean i can take step2CK at the end of august 2015 latest?

i should add: i want the programs to see my step2 score before they do their rank lists.




(my step1 score is really bad with 213. i got a, MSc. and phd and 8 publications impact factor 5-13 in cardiology. 3 months of USCE with 2 US lors. can anybody also comment on my chances in a mid tier university program in internal medicine)

Since you're an IMG you should have your app ready to go on sept. 15th. So schedule your test around mid august the latest but I would try for august 1st because there could be delays. Plus, you want programs to see your step 2 score when they first see your app. I'm not sure about your chances at mid tier programs.

thanks so much for your reply. it helped me a lot for my plannings. just one more question: so for example i get my results on the 11th of september and i send the results of this score to ERAS same day. do you know how long it will take for ERAS to upload them for my application? is that a quick process?

I think the step scores are updated within 24hrs
