Hi!

So I don't know if it is worth for me to apply this cycle or not to md schools because I retook my mcat and did worse. My first score was a 505 and then I got a 503. I'm not sure what happened but I don't know if I have it in me to retake the exam again.
I was a religious studies major and my GPA is 3.767 and science is 3.72. I have done a lot of research in my labs. I will have a good amount of patient contact and from my gap year and service hours too. Does anyone think I should still give it a shot?
I know Im not competitive for many schools but I was just thinking if its worth it.

What is your state of residence? and your school list? +/- couple points on retake is typical, how long did you prep for 2nd MCAT? and did you improve on FL tests for 2nd one?

I am a PA residence. I took two months preparing for the second time and I was doing better on FL by several points. I was scoring around 508-10 so I felt ready to take it again but am not sure what happened on the actual one.
Here is my list so far:
Cooper Rowan
Drexel
TCMC
loyola
Oakland
Penn State
U. Arizona - Phoenix
U. Arizona - Tucson
U. North Dakota
U. South Carolina
U. South Carolina - Greenville
U. Washington
Wright State

You're circling the drain for MD schools. Most of the schools on your list rarely take OOSers.
I suggest:
Loma Linda (only if you are SDA or a very devout Christian)
Loyola (maybe)
Rosy Franklin (maybe)
Oakland U Beaumont
WVU
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment) [503+]
TCMC, especially if you're from the Scranton area
Any DO school. I can't recommend Touro-NY, Nova, Wm Carey, LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide.

I suggest applying to at least 6 DO schools and you are competitive for most DO schools. For MD schools you could add these:
Temple
Seton Hall
NOVA MD
West Virginia
Quinnipiac
New York Medical College
Rosalind Franklin

Agree with what others said. You have a non-science degree and your MCAT scores show weakness in science. Apply widely including DO schools.

Thanks everyone! That was really helpful!
