I have a 3.70 GPA and a 3.68 science GPA with great ECs. But I just scored only a 21/O on my MCAT (embarrassing, I know). This was way below my practice AAMC scores (ave 27)... I am going to retake on August 22nd. Are my chances hurt badly for entering an MD school for the following year? How about DO?

What should I do? I have no idea.

You have zero chance at MD schools, whatsoever. Do not even apply to MD schools, period.

You have a god GPA, so you maybe considered at a handful of DO schools that are lower on the selectivity spectrum. Look for some of the newly established DO schools and perhaps some of the satellite campuses of more established schools (ie LECOM-FL, PCOM-GA, etc.) I'm not too familiar with DO schools, but one would imagine these maybe slightly less competitive than the more established schools.

Best advice.... retake the MCAT!!
