I'm in a health profession school (not medical; posting here to hopefully get better advice/exposure) who's program recently started (less than 2 weeks of actual classes attended). But my dilemma is another school that I want to go to offered me admission. My current school says they will not offer me any tuition refund if I switch programs since I already started their program and signed some documents outlining their terms and conditions which were not very explicitly stated in my opinion.
So my questions is aren't professional/graduate programs required to refund a certain percentage of the tuition if the student withdraws very early on in the semester? For example, during undergrad, there was a prorated amount that you would get back if you withdrew within a certain time frame. Aren't there any State or Federal laws in place to protect the student in such situations? I mean I'm not going to contest or ask them to refund by initial safety deposit nor am I asking for a full refund.
Lastly, in my situation, will lawyering up help me in any way so that I can try and recoup some of the tuition already paid?
