Just FYI I'm a 32 y/o non trad with the hopes of applying sooner rather than later (of course while not sacrificing grades or mcat scores)

I'll be transferring from community college to a four yr institution in the fall and starting my Chem sequence (gen chm 1&2, orgo 1&2, followed by biochem) with these courses I'll be mixing in respective prereqs like physics, bio, etc...)

MY Concern/Question: I am considering taking these courses back-to-back including summer terms (which means orgo 1 would be taken in the summer ) is this not recommended or have some of you taken orgo in the summer??

Thanks @bananafish94. People just try to scare me about taking such a hard class in a short term but I guess it's time to step up to the plate and get ready bc med school will be 100x harder lol

Do understand that 9 times out of 10, o-chem is the course that gives pre-meds the most trouble as in they tend to earn a grade lower than their overall gpa. Prepare yourself mentally for that while working towards the best.
Typically, a year of o-chem is 3 hours/week for 30 weeks plus a lab. Instead, you are going to manage 90 hours (plus labs) in 6-8 weeks. If you aren't working full-time, and you have adequate time to study the material and prepare for the lectures and labs and do the problem sets and lab reports, it should be do-able. Please go to "ratemyprofessor.com" and check out the instructor before you register. I've heard horror stories about summer instructors.
