I know I am a little early as I am only a sophomore in college but I wanted a little advice.

I ended my freshmen year with a 2.5
GPA

I know I'm making excuses but I had a family member die in February in the middle of my second semester freshmen year. So with that being said I was gone for 10 days because I had to go out of the country.

After I finished my freshmen year I transferred to a different school and I will pretty much be restarting all over again as a freshmen due to low Chem grade and bio grade not counting as a credit.

So my counselor recommended taking an extra year. So I just wanted some advise and to know if it's not to late.

At the end of the next academic year, assuming the same course load and 4.0 GPA, your cGPA would be 3.25. At the end of the 4th year, it could be 3.62. If you add an extra year and/or add an extra year of undergrad before applying, it could approach or exceed the average cGPA for all acceptees.

So it's not too late.

Thank you for tour response I was just wondering how were you able to come up with that statement about at the end of my 4th year it would be a 3.62

I did the calculations with the assumption you'd take the same number of credits each year that you did last year and that you earned straight As. Obviously perfect grades may not happen, but even so you can get yourself into a competitive range if you're close.
