Hi,
I am new to SDN and I have found a number of these threads helpful so I thought I would post about my own situation. I am a junior who has just completed ochem1 this summer. Unfortunately, I got a C in the course. My gpa before that was a 3.45, but no it is down to a 3.3. I have done about a month of research and am currently volunteering at a hospital. I am worried that I don't have a chance at med school because of my low gpa, and ochem grade as well as the fact that my extracurriculars seem to be lacking with only volunteering and research to my credit. Has anyone been in this same boat, and does anyone have any advice for what I should do? Should I retake ochem1? Thanks for your help

3.3 is not the end of the world. IT'S ARMAGEDDON!!! RUN AWAY! Haha, j/p.

Do you plan to graduate next year? If possible, spend a fifth year to keep bumping that GPA and for your fourth and fifth year take as many advanced science courses you can and DO WELL in them, and finish up with a bang in your remaining ochem. Also, kick butt on your MCAT. Continue your research, your volunteering, get good letters, thus endeth the sermon. Praise Jebus.

The benediction is over, back to work....
