Hey i am a Canadian student. I go to university of toronto and here are my stats.
My GPA is around 3.1 and i was able to do well in my third and fourth year.
3rd year: 3.4
4th year: 3.6
BTW in both years, i took high level science courses and i am planning to stay one more year to try to boost up my GPA.
I've also written the Canadian DAT and here is my score.
Bio:20
GC:23
PAT:20
Carving:20
RC:15 (I wasn't able to concentrate cuz i was really hungry at that time and my food ran out on me. I swear it is not an excuse)
I am thinking about writing the American DAT this year. Can anyone please tell me if my RC is going to affect my chance of getting in and i should write the DAT again? Also, when you apply, do they look at which school u graduated from cuz University of Toronto is one of the best schools out there in Canada and it is really tough to get good marks.
Thanks. please help me

hey dont worry uoft is hard to get a high gpa anyway...but american schools dont consider what school u come from, really from canada...maybe more in the states. i think they consider all canadian schools good but its more on ur gpa/dat.
ur dats are good but ya rc is way harder on the cdn dat vs. american, but most american schools wont even look at ur marks unless there ALL 19+ at least
i would take the american ones, there easier im sure u'll do great!

Thanks for ur reply.
u sounded like u wrote both of them. If you did, do u mind asking what ur stats are like? btw u go to u of t as well?

no one wants to comment on this? please guys help me out

I think it is a good idea to take the DAT again. Certain dental schools have cutoffs where they will tremendously look down on an applicant if he/she does not perform up to par on certain section. I am not exactly sure on this, but I believe the cutoff is somewhere around 16-17.

I also believe that RC is one of the most important section that they focus on because there seems to be a direct correlation between RC scores and students' performance once they attend dental school. Just retake the DAT and make sure that you dont get any section below a 18/17 and you should be fine.

I am sorry that i wont be able to verify this for you. I was told by my kaplan instructor regarding this information. I am not sure, but you can try to find information about this by searching the forum?
