Ok, so I have been studying for the DAT hardcore for the last 5 or 6 weeks and it seems like I have just hit a wall. I was making 18-20 on Achiever and 20+ on Topscore 2 weeks ago, and I just took the 2nd Achiever test this morning and made a 17 in bio, 15 in Gchem, and a 16 in Organic...My test is next Monday and I am beginning to think that I might need to postpone it to a later date.
This will be my third and final attempt. I made an 18 last January and there is still a chance that I might get accepted, so I would hate to make worse and blow my chances. I really felt like I could do much better than an 18 until now. So I was hoping that someone might could give some advice. Thank you in advance...

Hard for someone to give you advice that is worth a darn. This is your own choice, and only you know the right answer here. I just decided about...oh, 5 minutes ago, that I am going to move my DAT back 2 weeks (if its not too late, im scheduled for saturday...meh, I need to look into this). My reasoning is that I feel I can do better in organic if I give myself more time to learn and memorize reagents and things. Every other section I feel I could walk in right now and do the best I am ever going to do.

If your situation is similar I would move it back. If you have studied your arse off and feel like every bit of information you jam in your brain causes another bit to trickle out, then maybe its your time to give it a go.

I agree with Willem, if you are having serious doubts and/or you think you need more time to study, don't hesitate to reschedule. I would only take the test when fully confident. But again it's really you that has to decide that.

I hit the same wall last spring when I was studying. The pressure of taking the DAT again coupled with the desire to do well finally got to me. I decided to take a day off from studying. I baked a cake, read a book (no textbooks allowed), and treated myself to dinner. It was amazing how much better I felt afterward. I was also able to increase my PAT score by 4 points following my short sabbatical and my other scores increased a point each over my highest Achiever score. Good luck and cut yourself some slack! 👍

I appreciate all of the advice. It looks like I am going to give myself a couple more weeks to prepare before pulling the trigger...After my brief vacation from studying, how should I go about studying for these last two weeks, should I just work with Destroyer, Topscore, and Achiever, or should I go back through all my books (Cliffs AP, Schaums, Kaplan, etc..) one last time?
