Need Advice

Hello fellow SDN rs
I've postponed taking the DAT like a million times. everytime the date for the DAT approaches I panic and postpone the test. I do feel ready taking the test it's just i can't overcome the fear of doing really bad. I've taken topscore and i did reasonably well on their tests. I can all the problems on Destroyer with no problem. This is my first time taking the test and i'm not applying for next cycle. What's your advice please.

just go for it!!

one thing to keep in mind with this exam is that you will never feel a 100% percent ready to ever take it, but you can definitely prepare so that you are close to that 100% which sounds like you are!

I guarantee you, most of us who took the test thought we were gonna bomb it ESPECIALLY the night before.

just have confidence in urself and do it...u will never feel completely ready...i didnt either n im so relieved after it. trust me if u can do all the problems in destroyer u can do it...believe in urself n just go nail that ****!!!! 😛

You answered your own question lol "I do feel ready"... so take the test you got this 😉 ... Heres one way to look at it, im assuming from what u have stated in your comment that you have thoroughly prepared, as long as you know you gave it your 100% theres no shame in the outcome. Dont be scared my friend, keep your head held high and shot for the stars. I've read many of times on countless forums that what people wish they would have done differently was to keep their confidence up. People have said that just from the sheer fear and anxiety of the test it has caused them to perform poorly and miss a couple of questions they really knew, so what im trying to say is dont fall into the same category. Build your self esteem, clear your head and do your best and im sure you’ll come out on top 😉.

It sounds like you are ready. If you KNOW all the questions in destroyer especially the science questions then you should be set. When I say know, I mean you know why each answer selection is right/wrong for each question. If you have gone through and memorized the answers or simply recognize the correct answers this will not do you much good (I am assuming this is not what you've done 😉). If you are not applying this year 2011...I would suggest taking biochemistry if you have not already. Not that you can't do well on the dat without this class (I took it without) but it will make any related questions very easy. The questions on the DAT are not nearly as detailed as you will get in your class...Anyways, just a few suggestions....

I am not sure what you are scoring on Top Score but if you are scoring around 20's then you will be fine....If you are scoring closer to 15-16 then I would say keep working 👍

Take a look at my breakdown and see my real dat vs top score. I feel that it is pretty consistant with other peoples score comparisons.
