Need advices!

Hi everyone, i am interested in Pharmacy school, especially USC and UCSD 🙂 . I am currently taking the pre-requisite coursework for admission to the doctor of pharmacy program at a collage in philadephia, PA. after this summer 06, i will have 40 credit hours. and try to finish all the pre requisite coursework by spring 07 or summer07. i called USC and UCSD few times, but no one pick up the phone or call me back. my school's counselors are helpless and not professional. i went to meet a few of them, but they said they don't have a specific information that i want because these schools are too far from my school. all they have is the gerneral information about the school, and they always tell me to call the schools by myself or make another appointment to meet them agian, and they will help me call the school, but every appointment take at less 2 or 3 weeks. when the appointment day came, they call me and tell " sorry, the counselor couldn't make it today" my school counselor and advicer system are not good! i am tired of it 😡 .
now i need your help 😳 ! I need advices from you guys! hope you can help me! i think you guys are ways better then the professional advicers 👍 !
i really want to go to pharmacy school and as soon as possible. i dont want to wait, i am afriad it's going to be too late for me 🙁 . can you guys tell me how to start? what is the first step? and what next? when will i suppost to apply for admission?... can you give me everything that i should know and should do in order to get in pharmacy schoo? because all i know is the pre-requisite coursework 😳 . actually, i am not sure if all the class that i take from my school will get accepted at USC or USCD.

Go to the UCSD & USC school of pharmacy websites. On there you will see a link for admissions. That will give you prerequsite, testing, citizenship, timelines, etc requirements. It will also give you profiles for the previous classes so you can compare your own statistics with those who have been accepted. It will also give you a mailing address you can send a request for a printed catalog.

Forgive me if I'm assuming too much here, however, I'd advise you to take some writing courses. Your request to the schools might be handled with more seriousness if you are able to write it with correct punctuation & fewer run-on sentences. That sounds horribly pompous, but this becomes important later on when you have to write a personal statement or have an interview.

Its very common for people to go all over the country for graduate school, so your request is very reasonable. Good luck!

hi,

i will be attending ucsd this fall. i would say that one of the first and best things to do is to make yourself a more competitive applicant by getting your bachelor's degree while finishing your prereqs.

usc's website has a course equivalencies website where you can enter in the name of your college and find the right classes you need to take.

just so you know, usc has a lot more prereqs than other schools, especially when compared to ucsd.


for ucsd, they tell you to use www.assist.org and to look up course equivalencies to ucsf school of pharmacy since they have the same prereqs. one thing to note is that they require physics lab that deals with electricity and magnetism, not mechanics - this was wrong for my school equivalencies.

to use assist.org, on the first page scroll down to "UCSF School of Pharmacy." on the next page, scroll down until you find your school. on the third page, scroll down under "By Major" to find the right one. a list of courses at your school that compare to ucsd's prereqs should load after that.

By visiting the website for each of the schools you are looking into you can get almost all the required information necessary to apply. Also, check out www.pharmcas.org, which has info on applying to any school that uses pharmcas to process applications.

I'm not usually a grammar nazi, but for your own benefit brush up on your understanding of the English Plural .
