I am wait listed at only one college and I was thinking of updating them with spring semester grades. I was wondering if it is advisable to have my volunteer services coordinator also write a letter of recommendation. Thanks for your input in advance.

I don't see why not, I doubt it would hurt you. But you might get better answers in the high school SDN forum from other people who were/are in a similar situation. There's few things I remember about applying to college lol

Try high school forums or College Confidential (are they still around? Man it's been so long), they could give you better advice.
I do remember being on the wait list at Brown back in the day; I sent in another LOR from a high school teacher but still got rejected anyway. It still stings.
