Need big time advice

I am a U.S. allopathic medical student interested in anesthesiology. Currently in my 4th year and Im starting to look into residency programs. I am worried the I might not have a good chance even for average programs because I am and average student with mediocre grades and a step 1 score of 204. Please if anyone knows which programs, especially in ny, nj area I might have the best chance can you please answer this post. I really could use all the advice I could get. I have registered to take step 2 in mid october and i am hoping that would help. I dont know if i could Improve that much but I will try my best.

Get some more advice, but I know of someone who had to take a year off medical school for a drug problem and still matched at a sought after spot on the west coast. give yourself some credit and go after it.
