Hey guys, so im stuck in a situation and need y'alls advice! So Im applying to dental school, have about a 3.3/2 GPA, and 18 DAT-- i want to bring up my DAT score, but i dont have enough time to study considering that im working in a dental office and am taking post-bacc classes. Im currently taking 9 hours, but I am thinking about dropping to 6 so that I can focus on my DAT and hopefully bring it up to around a 20. I already graduated in May, and am just taking classes to show that I'm committed, and to also bring up my sci GPA... but isnt the DAT so much more important?? and how much will 3 extra hours bring up your GPA anyways? What are you guys thoughts?!?! I need advice: drop class and focus on DAT while working in the dental office more (i need money for loans!!!), or stay in class, risk my score on DAT, yet hopefully make A's in my classes-- AH, what do I do???

I think it really depends on your situation.

Most people in this forum usually dedicate 2-3 months, 6-8 hours a day of intensive study to prepare for the DAT. I think you are on the right track that you should focus on the DAT more, I would've done the same thing if I were you.

As for which one is more important between GPA and DAT, I think different people may have different opininos on that matter. Personally, I think a higher GPA demonstrates your dedication and hardwork, but adcoms do tend to think otherwise.
