they are both accredited dental schools that will teach you the basics of dentistry. specializing has nothing to do with what school you go to provided that the one you choose is the one in which you get the most out of your own potential. specializing in endo is extremely hard and what will get you in is not the school you will have gone to but rather:

board scores
class rank if school ranks
post-graduation clinical experience....

I think you should pick the school that has an environment where you can succeed. I know NYU has a large class size, if you like smaller classes, maybe the other school is better.

It also helps if you have a good external environment. If you think living in new york city will be good place for you, then NYU might be a good option.
In addition, Ive heard certain schools design the cirriculum so that you can do well on the boards.

Let me clarify what I meant by the question:
I meant that since the reputation of the school is a determinant in matriculation into specialty, I was wondering which one has a better reputation in the dental community?

Thanks

I would recommend Case for sure, I have my friends going to NYU and I'm a Case student... Specially if you want to specialize in Endo, one of the best... but the city sucks...
