need detailed answer to old question

I know that 4500 characters is the cap for our personal statements. But how many pages would that be single spaced, size 12 font? This might be a stupid question, but I am close to finishing my p.s., and it is about 1 page single spaced, size 12 font,

Copy paste into word, then Tools -> word count

I think he knows how to use the word count feature on microsoft word...He's probably wondering how to count the number of CHARACTERS (to my understanding, characters include punctuation and spaces between words)..I actually have the same question.

actually if you go to word and select "wordcount" under tools it'll tell you the number of words, as well as the number of characters, with and without spaces.
