Need good prelim programs in NY?

Someone please help me out! There are so many programs and I don't know much about each. I've been trying to research all of the programs but I need to figure how they compare for prelim programs vs categorical and in comparison to one another. Can anyone give some basic advice? I know the obvious columbia, nyu but how about the other programs any particular thoughts about prelim vs categorical. I'm looking for ones that aren't crazy brutal...
