Hi All,

I am really worried and my DAT is in a week...I need some advice on how to study for the last week.

I took Topscore 1 a week ago and got

BIO 17 (11 WRONG)
GC 21 (3 WRONG)
OC19 (7 WRONG)
PAT 23 (8 WRONG)
QR 22 (7 WRONG)
RC 19 (16 WRONG)

Yesterday I took Topscore 2 and got

BIO 17 (11 WRONG)
GC 17 (9 WRONG)
OC 20 (5 WRONG)
PAT 23 (7 WRONG)
QR 22 (6 WRONG)
RC 21 (9 WRONG)

My DAT is in a week and I have done almost everything, went through destroyer for all subjects; done chad video and quiz; done CDP many times; I haven't finished the last 4 chapters of cliff bio and plan to do that in the last week.

My topscore score is freaking me out. I know people can get a bit higher or lower...but BIO GC worries me. Hearing that RC and QR are easier in Topscore also worries me...

(I did qauvlt for reading got 1 20 and 1 21; also did one Achiever PAT and got 18) I don't know if I am ready to face the DAT beast?

What should I do in this last week? Thank you.
(oh I searched for similar threads but I really want some advices based on my current situation, thx)

I was in similar situation as you. I had spent so much time in the 3-4 weeks leading up to my test on QR, OC, and GC, that I completely tossed bio to the side. So, I spent the last 3 days or so cramming as much bio information into my short term memory as possible - memorized every piece of information on my 1200-1300 flash cards, reread Cliff's (skimming and taking in any bold terms/facts) and wikipediaing anything and everything that I came across and wasn't familiar with. I made a new flashcard for every vocabulary word or random fact that came up that I didn't know.

I know that one person may learn and/or retain information in a different fashion than another, but this seems to have worked for me. I was scoring 17-19 on the bio section of all my practice tests (topscore, 2009 DAT, and both Kaplan tests), then scored a 23 on the bio section of the DAT. Now that it's two weeks later, I probably can't remember half that stuff, but I retained it long enough, and that's what is most important right?

I didn't spend 100% of my time at the end on biology. Don't forget about any OC rxn's that are troubling you and review all GC and QR equations.

Again, this is what worked for me (23 AA/23 TS/23 PAT), but it might not be right for everyone.

That's very inspiring. Thank you. I am thinking about doing that too. : ) Throughout my undergraduate, I have been cramming for finals in that fashion... and you are right, OC is easy to forget...so I guess I need to review GC, OC notes while diving in bio notes.
