Hello,

I did poorly on Step 1 (low 200s), and would obviously love to see a huge increase for Step 2. I will have 32 days of dedicated study time. I had originally hoped to use: Step Up to Medicine, Step Up to Step 2, Kaplan High Yield online/Master the Boards, UWorld, and Secrets. I am hoping to have finished the first pass of UWorld by the end of third year, and I've taken extensive notes on it thus far. I was planning to study off of those notes and repeat UWorld during my study time, though.

I am thinking that 32 days is not enough time to get through all of this (especially since that doesn't even include any days off). Also, I have a tendency to spread myself too thin on many resources, and never actually get to go through them all. I think Step Up to Medicine would be the first to get cut, although I think I would benefit from going over it, since I have a fairly weak base to begin with. Does anyone have any tips on how I should prioritize or what I should leave out?

Thank you for any help!

Too many sources. I personally feel that the Step Up series is mediocre and I didn't use it at all but others feel differently.

Secrets is amazing; know that cover to cover if you have time. UWorld is obviously the single best source for this exam. Master the boards is OK but I think that you need to read both the Step 2 and Step 3 books to get enough info for Step 2. Never used Kaplan high-yield so IDK. I think a major factor that comes into play with this exam is how hard you worked during rotations and your shelf exam grades. You can use that further to tailor your studying. For example, if you weren't great on the Surgery shelf, you can read Pestana's Surgery review notes which is a short and great read.

For what it's worth, I received a 256 on Step 2.
