Need help! Equipment for first year students

I'm not exactly sure what your questions means, but I wouldn't worry about buying equipment until your school asks you too. Most schools will help you by bulk ordering exactly what you need. The pictures you linked to include some of the things, but you're missing a diagnostic set (ophthalmoscope/retinoscope/transilluminator). On the other hand.. you probably won't need your own prejector slides (http://i17.ebayimg.com/08/i/000/f5/b2/3de7_1.JPG).

I would be cautious about purchasing your equipment from an eBay company. The benefit to buying with the rest of your class is you will get good prices and you have an AMAZING warranty that will take care of basically anything that happens to your equipment. You won't really save enough buying elsewhere to make up for the piece of mind that warranty comes with. I know you're excited, but hold off until school starts and you can order with your class.

my school also sends a list of things that we needed, and I took a look at each individual price compare to the price from different company, the school's price isn't so bad, and in some cases it's even cheaper bc of student price.

I think it might be easier to just purchase the whole require list from school instead of ordering individual item from different places and have the shipping charges.

Definately don't need the projector slides!

Wait until you start school, they will have a complete list of things your need, and the prices will most likely be much better.

Definitely buy your stuff from school. I'm not sure about other schools, but SCCO has this great warranty for any equipment bought from their school store. For example, whenever you break your BIO, for any reason, you will get a loaner until your own BIO is repaired, free of charge. This is true if you buy a Keeler, Heine, or Welch Allyn as far as I know. Also, if your bulb goes out, you get free replacement bulbs. Make sure you check with your school first to find out the policy. Also, as a student, you get to buy all your equipment at a very discounted rate compared to what you pay outside of school.
