im looking for an article published in the mid 1990's where the researchers separated Sp1 (C terminus) from maltose binding protein. I want to get in contact with them to see if they'll send me a sample or atleast to see their protocol. My efforts have been thwarted by protein degradation.

Have you searched Entrez-Pubmed yet? If you know the last name and first (and middle initial, if it applies), then it should be easy to find the article. Throw in a few key words to further refine the search if you wish.

For instance, if the PI's name is Hugh G Rekshun and the key word is Sp1, then you would query:

Rekshun HG AND Sp1

yea man, ive been searching on there. i dont know the name. My PI told me that he read this article a few years back but im not having any luck locating it. i think it might be this article but i can only view the abstract. link

I usually use the [AU] tag for author. Example:

Andy Fatkid Milonakis = Milonakis[AU] AF

-X

PM me with your email, and I'll send you the PDF

For citations after about 2000 or so, you can now search with first names i.e.

"Milonakis, Andy" instead of "Milonakis AF"

If you know the institution, you include search terms such as city or institution.

i.e. Milonakis Andy Ann Arbor
