Need help finding an MD to shadow

I feel like I have hit a little bit of a wall. I live in an area with several large medical power houses. The Cleveland Clinic being one of them. I found it extremely simple to find a PA to shadow. But, I'm having a difficult time with how to shadow an MD. I have searched the website and there is no contact information. I will be a CSU student this fall so I'm not sure if theres a way in there. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I can't find anything from one of the hospitals and I know one hospital requires you to find your own physician to shadow. Is it acceptable/appropriate to send a cover letter and resume to a department head to see if they could connect me with anyone?

If you have the contact information, that's a good idea. What about the other hospitals, though? If they're farther away, you can shadow a few hours a week to avoid traveling too often. Are there individual practices you can contact as well?

Connections will be your best friend here. Do you have any family friends who are doctors? It doesn't matter where they work and hospitals are way harder to shadow at than doctor's offices because of the additional paperwork and regulations they have to go through. So your family doctor might even work.

Are you volunteering in any hospital or clinic? I found a few doctors that were very willing to let me shadow in the hospital I volunteer at because I was already cleared through health screening, background check, etc.

My mega-post on an idea for finding a doc available to shadow, and potentially getting an LOR that might have actual meaning. Neurologists can be good to approach too for the same reasons.
