Hello guys,

I wanted hear from you guys as to what schools I should apply to.
I'm seeing some very very low acceptance rate in all of the MD school that I have researched so far and I'm pretty shocked at seeing this rate. Even confused on what my reach or safety schools are. How do you choose them?

I have 3.92 cGPA, 3.94 sGPA, and 34 MCAT (11, 10, 13)
I retook MCAT, the first one was (9,8,11)

-Washington state resident
-Graduated in 2014 from top 20 university with science major (Have no idea if this will help or not)
-Worked as a medical assistant at a clinic for 8 months (It has been a great experience for me. It really solidified my passion for medical school)
-1 year of volunteering at local hospital - I moved to different state recently so I recently began volunteering at ER and will continue until I enter medical school.
-3 years of official at a campus christian club that required at least 7-8 hours of dedication weekly. (I dedicated a lot of time and energy in the club)-
-3 years of research experience in science but no publication since I moved between labs (worked 10 hrs weekly)
-Summer research fellowship with poster presentation
-Shadowed few doctors (~100 hrs)
-Volunteered through a club to help autistic young adult (1 year)
- Volunteered at a local church for 3 years (made and served foods to homeless people)
- Good-Excellent Recommendation letters from College and the doctor that I worked for

As you can see, my EC is not so great even though I want to believe it is. I devoted substantial amount of time and passion in the christian club and did not have enough time for clinical exposure and volunteer during undergraduate years. Can experience as medical assistant/scribe substitute my lacking clinical experience/volunteering?

Here is my school list:

1) UW
2) UCSD
3) Drexel? (+10,000 applicants and so small numbers are being accepted)
4) NYU Medicine
5) Rush
6) Albert Eistein
7) Wake Forest
8) Hoftra
9) Columbia
10) Emory
11) Vanderbilt
12) Mayo
13) Baylor College
14) Miami
15) Rochester
16) Loyola
17) Cornell
18) Sinai
19) Keck (USC)
20) Northwestern
21) Virginia Commonwealth
22) Boston University
23) Temple University
24) Cornell
25) Rosalind Franklin
26) Quinnipiac

Thinking about applying to ~20 schools. It would be really helpful if you guys can trim it down for me.

You are my twin, similar stats, 2 MCATS almost identical. You have a lot of NY/NE schools, so I assume you are interested in NYC/Boston as well as California. With your strong stats, maybe peel off a few lower tiers that get thousands of apps (as you mention Drexel). I think Boston Univ is very pricey if I remember correctly. You totally by passed the midwest, but us midwesterners thank you for that!! Mayo is all about service, so if you aren't strong in the community service area, that might be one to toss out. All the new schools are starting to get lots of apps from weaker candidates, so you may want to throw out a few of those. Get the MSAR, as that is what I used to get my list down to 22 schools. Best wishes to you!!

Nothing wrong with aiming high; the ones I have in bold are schools where your MCAT score is 1-2 points below their avg, and your GPA is the same as the school avg. Thus, proceed with caution on these, but I feel you're in striking distance for some.
