Need Help low dat

wadup guys.. i am in really ba shape..i've been taking many practice exams and have done pretty well.

these are my real DAT's
AA 16
TS 17
BIO 18
Chem 18
Orgo 14
RC 16
QR 16
PAT 21

i've never in my life been so disgusted. i've never had lower than a 19 in both rc and qr.. i got really nervous and flew through the test.. i dont know what to do.. i'm taking a busy 19 credit semester while working part time. i'm planning to get my bach deg in 3 yrs. but with these scores i cant go anywhere.. i'm retaking it, but what should i do..
i have topscore cliffs and kaplan blue book but i donthink i need any thing else. all i have to do is calm down and relax.. any advice, plz tell me..
GPA 3.5 grad in 3 yrs without taking any summer courses.

so i believe you're a first year student?
then you still have plenty of time to improve your DAT score so
don't worry too much!!! i guess 🙂
i used destroyer, topscore, kaplan blue book, crack dat pat, crack dat math.
destroyer, crack dat pat, math were the most helpful resources for me!
yea like what you said, calming down and relaxing are very important!!!!

thank you for the advice but did you or anyone you know improve alot after they took the first one?
when i'm at home taking practice exams with no pressure i've been doing much more challenging problems.
there was never a practice exam in which i have completed because i wanted to make sure i get the ones i am familier with correct.
for some reason i actually finished the qr in the real est with 5 min to go.
i clearly need to relax and do what i do..
the problems were probably easy to understand but tricky to solve, maybe i didnt go the extra step to complete the problem..

actually this is my third year.. i have alot of science classes to take but will be graduating 2009.. i need to improve in less than 85 days..

hopefully you've submitted your app already, if not you better do so 10 min ago!

if you have a great GPA then you're still in the game..

it seems that most ppl do improve on their retake - using the knowledge from SDN, i would look into buying destroyer (esp for sciences), topscore, achiever, etc..

just let schools know of your future DAT date and hope for the best, study hard and good luck!

last year I took DAT and I got 19 19 21.
I only used Kaplan cliff's barrons and top score
I read Kaplan blue book for 3 times

This summeer, in addition to the 4 above, I used
cliff bio AP, kaplan chem AP, and MCAT1001 chem and orgo
plus orgoman.
I read Kaplan blue book 8 times
I got 24 23 24.
By the way, I work 40+ hour this summer at a lab.
part time shouldnt be a problem, but I had to stop drinking

They all were helpful and my GPA is looooow
Guys like me can get 24, you can do better.
I am pretty sure you will do much better next time

i'm going to submit my app. later this week.. but i think i should improve on my bio and chem since i didnt use anything but kaplan and topscore practice probs. i'll buy others and should be able to improve. as for reading and math, i dont know what else i could do.. i've done multiple practice exams and got great results. lowest 19 and highest 22.
as for orgo, i dont know what to say,, i really need help. something hard and specific because i had a really bad orgo teacher (easy)
and pat i thought it was too easy.. i finished with 15 min left and now i should do even better since i know i'll have plenty of ime left.. i'm not a guy that likes to change answers of a Multiple choice test..
plz reply as to how i can study and improve within 80 days of hard schedule starting in few wks..

i'd start with 6 to 10 coronas. sure theyre a little pricey but after u get bout 6 of em in u then u can switch to miller lite

why would anyone take the DAT after their freshmen year?? does OP already have orgo 1 and 2 after first yr in college? if not that's not a smart move getting a welcome to college punch to the gut with the DAT. Just retake after u ACTUALLY finish all ur prerequisites like orgo, tho they will see that 16 whenever u apply.

i have low dats as well. i decided that i am not going to retake because i would rather focus on doing well this semester than trying to study for the dats again. if i get anywhere then great, if not ill have more time to study the sections i did bad on and maybe get a masters as well. no need to stress!

like i said i will start my third year in a couple of wks..
i finished 2 years..
taking orgo, genetics, physics, calc, physio and all the freshmen intro classes..
i tried stuying in egypt. (i went on vacation) and it wasn't smart o take it right after.
wassup with the drinking.. hows that goin to solve my probs
i'm not depressed
everytime i think about it,, i'm not that mad..yeah i got a 16 but remember i have time and worst case is to get a masters and i shoudnt get anyprobs getting into dent school.
of course i will retake it but i just need to calm down during test day..
i dont drink and i believe if i did i'd get even worst
i think alcohol lowers a man to the level of animals

yeah maybe you need to learn how to relax, as we can see from your reaction above

drinking does help you since you don't get as stressed out and helps you sleep while you're sutdying for DAT (sleeping was the hardest part to do while preparing for DAT)

lol.. yup i know..
things just havent been the same recently..
after i took the dats i got pulled over and the cop gave me a speeding ticket.. 80 on a 70..
a week passed and i'm starting to study..
i'm just trying to calm myself down and just remember i'm only 19 and there shouldnt be any reason to rush myself.
i will study as hard as i can but like i said dat is a test that will kill your nerves,, i have to admitt the people that can get 20's on practice and on the real thing are smart and are ready for the graduate level..

hey guys, just took dat's 2day 8/25...and i messed up on QR and RC,,, not even gonna post score's, i dont have such a hot gpa... feeling like the worlds ending, but sciences and pat were good/ takin a heavy load nxt semester, but should i take the dats again in 90 days... already sent in application,, etc ... is there even a chance or point in applying this cycle... IM so confused/depressed
