Need Help LOW DAT

wadup guys.. i am in really bad shape..i've been taking many practice exams and have done pretty well.

these are my real DAT's
AA 16
TS 17
BIO 18
Chem 18
Orgo 14
RC 16
QR 16
PAT 2🙂

i've never in my life been so disgusted. i've never had lower than a 19 in both rc and qr on practice exams.. i got really nervous and flew through the test.. i dont know what to do.. i'm taking a busy 19 credit semester while working part time. i'm planning to get my bach deg in 3 yrs. this being the 3rd year. but with these scores i cant go anywhere.. i'm retaking it, but what should i do..
i have topscore cliffs and kaplan blue book but i dont think i need any thing else. all i have to do is calm down and relax.. any advice, plz tell me..
GPA 3.4 grad in 3 yrs without taking any summer courses.
i just got destroyer..
how do you think i'll do

Sorry about your scores. You really should speak to someone who took the DATS and did well. He can probably tell you how he studied and that might help you out.

Kaplan + Destroyer is a good strategy to cover teh conceptual + calculations questions on the natural science along with Cliffs AP Bio. Using Crack DAT PAT on a regular basis will help with PAT. Again the amount of quality time you put into the DATs is reflected in your scores.

What your saying about nerves and staying calm is abostely true. It is very difficult to do well on a test like this if you are nervous. It took me 15-20 minutes to calm down. For me just 'letting go' and saying that I studied all that I could and whatever happens, happens helped me. Going in with a clear head and plenty of sleep is important along with a positive mental attitude.

when do you plan on retaking? It will prob be for next cycle so maybe you can slowly work on one subject during the semester get your apps in next may right away and take a lighter semester the following one and take it like a month after finals

i never scored less than a 19 in either math or reading on topscore and kaplan. my sciences were always around 17 and 18. and pat was always above 20.
i have to retake it now because i am a senior.
i already applied and know alot of dental students who have retakin the dat's, and have been accepted to good schools with a 19 (retaking it on november.)
i depended on my math and reading to boost my score up.
Like i said i got nervous and stupid.. oh yeah i also drank an energy drink (on break) right before the rc and qr sections. i cannot explain how bad i had to use the bathroom. (i dont want to make excuses)
and on the way home i got pulled over and recieved a ticket for talking on my cell.(what a day!!!!)
so if u have any advise hit me up thankx

I would depend on it, I didnt use Kaplan at all, i looked at it once found a handful of mistakes on one page and said theres piece of garbage. I only used Destroyer for Gchem and Orgo and I did allright. However I did havea very solid backgroun in the chemistries. Bio needs cliffs or schaumms. Kaplans blue book is a waste of money, way too easy and full of mistakes.

I think the kaplan online stuff was more useful then destroyer just my .02 tho...

Kaplan blue book is indeed crapola, the white book is excellent....

Destroyer was useful but NOT as your primary outline guide its simply practice questions I think if you attempt to neglect an overall outline and practice tests and depend only on destroyer your going to be in for a hard ride
