Hello brothers and sisters.

My friend and I are kind of in the same situation, but we've been accepted to multiple chools.


I've gotten into UPenn, Louisville, Buffalo, NYU, and Creighton

My friend has gotten into UPenn, NYU, Michigan, and Buffalo



We're both from New York and split between choosing UPenn and Buffalo. Both of us are not 100% sure if want to specialize so it kind of makes sense to pay the in-state tuition and go to Buffalo. I understand that UPenn is extremely expensive; however, I've heard so many amazing things about UPenn (including the brand name 🙂)

Any suggestions?

Go to buffalo. There are too many what if scenarios that may play it out that will end up costing you a metric @#$% TON of money (DON'T FORGET TO FACTOR IN INTEREST!!!). Keep in mind, the end goal is to open a practice, which will be accomplished much sooner if you have less debt.

Upenn is my dream school but it is pricey. If u have scholarship df go there.

Def. Buffalo! It's a great school AND you'll thank yourself later for the difference in student loans. If the money isn't an issue, go with your gut or dream school. Good luck!

UPENN man. I'm in the same situation but with stony instead of buffalo. Think about the $ though.

In this case, I'd go to your state school.

Today at Penn we had a lunch and learn from a financial advisor that basically said this:
"Tuition has hit 100% inflation since the 1990's. Your tuition is too much. Do Income Based Replacement" (In so many words)

Don't f*ck around with loan money. It's not lottery money.

I feel like I'm the only person on SDN really genuinely repping and pimpin Buffalo lol. You can send 2 kids to dental school at Buffalo where you can only send 1 kid to Penn. The price is right at Buffalo lol.

While cost can be a big factor, if you get into the school of your dreams you may regret not going after a year or two. You're going to have a huge dept load regardless, so why not go to your dream school or prefered one at least and enjoy your 4 years!
