Need help plz!!FAFSA question b4 gettin accepted to PharmD program

Hi guys,

This has bothered me lately. I am still waiting for the result of my interview from USN and I will have an interview for MCPHS- Boston at the end of this month. And I am concerning about filling out FAFSA for this 09-10.
On the application, it asks me whether or not I will attend a doctor program next school yr. But I don't know yet! I don't know what to put in because i'm afraid it will hurt me if I told them I will not but then I will get accepted to a program. They might not give me enough money for attending PharmD?? And if I wait to hear from pharmacy schools, will it be too late to fill out FAFSA ? I know it's really confusing...hix. I don't know what would be a better way to put it. Could anyone who has been through this give me some advice please. I will really appreciate it.

Check the school's deadline for financial aid. If you can't find it, then just fill out the FAFSA now. It never hurts to fill it out early!
You can select Yes for doctor program. If you're not accepted, you can always go back and change it (I hope you get in thou 🙂). Also, I guess you haven't filed your tax yet, so you have to go back to correct the numbers on the FAFSA anyway.

Yeah you can select Yes now and change it later if you don't get accepted. Because if you finish it now, you won't miss any important deadline. Check with the schools and see if you have to fill out any additional forms for their schools as well. Once you get it done, you're all set if you're accepted.
If you're not accepted, you can go back and change it to bachelor degree or whatever. Then the school you will attend to finish your degree will get your info and they will process it as a non-doctoral program.

Is it okay to put down multiple schools if you are not sure which school you are going to attend? I got accepted to one but I am waiting to hear from two others.

i think you're worrying too much about something you shouldn't even worry about. Just fill the FAFSA accurately and completely as though you will get into pharmacy school this upcoming year. Put in all the pharmacy schools you applied to. If you don't get in, you don't need to do anything. They are not going to hunt you down and put you in prison. I applied over the past 3 years and filled a FAFSA for each year. I didn't get in those years and I didn't even bother editing my FAFSA. Basically, the FAFSA gets sent to the schools. If you didn't get accepted to those schools, they're not going to give you any loans. So nothing happens. It's that simple.

Check with the school(s) before you check "yes" for the doctorate prgm on FAFSA! I know that MCPHS considers students undergrads until P3 and you won't get a Pell grant/SMART/FSEOG if you're a grad student!

You mean that I should check for my school's deadline for Financial Aid? I am in my sophmore yr.
