Hey,

I am planning on taking the DATs and I was wondering if anyone could suggest the prep materials... also usually when so people start studying for it.. like how much ahead in time? I know it might be different for everyone. I'll really appreciate your advice. =)

My school go by quarters, so I didnt start studying intensively until mid June or so. I studied for a little less than 2 months, 6-8 hours a day with occasional break days where I do nothing. I took the test on 8/11.

Personally, I think 3 months is more than sufficient to study for the test, if you really put a lot of work to study everyday.

As for prep materials...
These are the popular ones:

-Kaplan blue book at www.amazon.com
-Topscore at www.scholarware.com
-DAT Achiever at www.3tquest.com
-DAT Destroyer at www.orgoman.com

Use everything jigabodo said. I also suggest either Cliff's AP Bio review notes or Schaum's Biology outline for bio.
I used all the above for studying for my DAT. I kind of wish I used Crack the PAT.

Like Nerve and jigabodo said, those are all great resources.

I spent 2.5 solid months, with maybe 4 or 5 days of breaks. The rest of the time it was 8 hours of studying, although I sometimes fell short on my goal of 8 hours.

I must warn you, even after all those months of studying, I could have easily studied for an extra month and still wouldn't have felt prepared. In a way, you will never really feel completely ready, so don't be surprised. 3 months full time really should be plenty.

Thankyou for your help =)
..... I am taking classes right now so I have to manage tht and studying for the DAT. I don't know how I'll be able to put in that much time =(
